Introduction/Bio

Welcome,

My name is Tal Dodson, and I am the Associate Director/IT Director and all around problem solver for UALR Extended Programs. We are the distance education division for the university. I have been with the online section since UALR went online with classes, about 9 years now. I am 24-7 student support. We currently have around 3,500 students completely online, and a number that we help the campus support that are in hybrid classes. I am starting this Blog to let others ask questions, bounce ideas off of me and to gain knowledge from those that are my peers, as well as to impart what I have learned over the past decade. I love questions, so please ask, if it is within my realm and not against current policy I will be more then happy to answer it--in other words stick to the tech/support side of things and we should all be good.
My background is in Psychology, Criminal Justice, Criminology, Information Assurance and soon Information Systems--I know spread all over the place. So, feel free to hammer away at me with questions--my university hosts a users conference each year in the Spring, the second annual one is this week, and I will keep everyone posted about the next one. We also travel to regional and national conferences and will be at BlackBoard World this summer, so you can find me there if you like. So no one gets confused, and asks questions out of my range of knowledge--we are a WebCT CE4.x and CE 6.x campus--we have not done Blackboard, we have a few Saki followers but I am all WebCT. I hope this goes well and will provide those with questions some answers, I will do my humble best to accommodate all questions. Have a great day.
